I.U.P.A. Terre Haute, I.U.P.A. Local #133 members from Terre Haute Police Department go out into the community to help kids.
Terre Haute Police Department shared about this on numerous occasions recently:
- This morning, members of our Juvenile Division had the opportunity to participate in the Amazing Shake at Ouabache Elementary! This event helps students build confidence and develop professional skills like handshakes, eye contact, and conversation techniques. Our juvenile detectives also stopped by St. Patrick’s School to talk with students about drug prevention. Educating our youth about the dangers of substance abuse is a top priority, and we appreciate the chance to have these important conversations. Big thanks to Ouabache Elementary and St. Patrick’s for having us!
- Our Juvenile Detectives enjoyed visiting Temple Pre-School, Devaney Elementary, and St. Patrick’s Elementary! We’re in schools daily, teaching programs like social media awareness, amongst others, each semester. Plus, our K-9 unit is sometimes brought in for demonstrations—because who doesn’t love the K-9s? 🐾 Thanks for having us!
- The Terre Haute Police Department values our youth and takes great pride in being actively involved with all of our local schools. Today, Lt. Sears and Officer Funkhouser participated in the Wabash Valley Career Fair at Terre Haute South, speaking with students about career opportunities in law enforcement and the importance of community service.
