Kayakers Rescued from Caloosahatchee River

Fort Myers Police Officers Association, I.U.P.A. Local #6065 members rescued some kayakers caught in rough water in the Caloosahatchee River.

Fort Myers Police Department posted about it on social media, “Last night the Fort Myers Police Department Marine Unit and the Florida State Guard Maritime Response Squadron rescued two distressed kayakers caught in rough water in the Caloosahatchee River.”

They continued, “After being overwhelmed by inclement weather with 20+ knot sustained winds, the vessel overturned, leaving the kayakers stranded in deep-open waters. The kayakers were transported to a local hospital, and are expected to make a full recovery. Thank you to the Florida citizens who reported the call to local dispatch.”
