Port St. Lucie Police Officers Association, I.U.P.A. Local #6015 President Scott Johnson, who is also an I.U.P.A. Regional Vice President, has retired after decades of dedicated service as a law enforcement officer.
At the March 2025 I.U.P.A. Board Meeting, I.U.P.A. President Sam A. Cabral and I.U.P.A. Secretary-Treasurer Mike V. Crivello presented him with a plaque that read, “In recognition of Scott Johnson for outstanding union leadership of Port St. Lucie Police Officers Association, I.U.P.A. Local #6015; his leadership as a Regional Vice President of I.U.P.A. Region 9; as well as for his faithful and dedicated service to the members. Law Enforcement Service: June 22, 1994 – March 31, 2025.”
An Exemplary Record of Service
I.U.P.A. Regional Vice President Johnson began his law enforcement career in 1994 at the Port Saint Lucie Police Department. In 1997, he left law enforcement briefly to work for the national syndicated magazine show 48 Hours NBC Dateline and ABC 20/20 as a sound and lighting technician.
In 2000, Johnson graduated from Palm Atlantic University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management. He then returned to law enforcement and began working for the Juno Beach Police Department as an Internal Affairs Investigator until 2003 when he returned to the Port Saint Lucie Police Department.
For just over twenty-four years, Johnson has served as a state certified firearms instructor, defensive tactics instructor, police motorcycle instructor, and a master Taser instructor. He also served on SWAT as a primary negotiator for just over seventeen years.
Johnson has been the President of Port St. Lucie Police Officers Association, I.U.P.A. Local #6015 since its inception with Port Saint Lucie in 2008, where he has had numerous victories negotiating for wages and benefits as well as vigorously advocating for its members.
