Hammond Police Department posted about it on social media, “Our SWAT competition team traveled to Baton Rouge to compete in the Annual LTPOA (Louisiana Tactical Police Offers Association) competition. They competed in a 2-day SWAT competition involving shooting and physical challenges. The team took several 2nd place trophies in four out of the six events. Congratulations to our competition team!!!”

The Louisiana Tactical Police Offers Association, who hosted the competition, describe themselves on their website, “The LTPOA was founded in 1997 by 7 or 8 like-minded police officers and deputy sheriffs that wanted to come together to promote the professionalism of SWAT teams around the state.  Taking the lead from the National Tactical Officers Association and modeled after the Texas Tactical Police Officers Association, these officers forged the way for what we call the LTPOA today.” Learn more on their website at https://ltpoa.us/.
