Memphis Police Association, I.U.P.A. Local #318 Members had a blast welcoming kids from the Police Explorer Academy to Memphis Police Department’s Aviation and Mounted Units!
Memphis Police Department shared on social media, “It was great having the Collierville Police Department Explorers come visit our specialized units, Aviation and Mounted.” Collierville Police Department posted, “The Collierville Police Explorer Academy is in full swing this summer. So far, participants have received hands-on instruction in traffic stops, crisis intervention, crime scene procedures, and the history of law enforcement.”
They continued, “They’ve also heard presentations from our Motors Unit, Unmanned Aerial Unit, Criminal Investigations Division, and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. One of the highlights has been a field trip to the MPD Mounted Patrol and Aviation Unit, giving Explorers a behind-the-scenes look at specialized areas of policing. We’re proud of these young leaders and excited to see what’s ahead as the academy continues.”
