I.U.P.A. Local Indian River Deputies Association, #6080 Members taught and participated in the Community Basic Life Saving (BLS) Course to certify participants in lifesaving techniques.
Indian River County Sheriff’s Office shared on social media, “Sheriff’s Office hosted its inaugural Community Basic Life Saving course (BLS). The Sheriff’s Office is now a certified training site through the Indian River County Fire Rescue Training Center. This rigorous training course, sanctioned by the American Heart Association, ensures that participants leave BLS Certified by the AHA. Led by IRCSO BLS-certified instructors, the Sheriff’s Office provides all instructional materials, including infant/child and adult manikins, Bag Valve Masks (BVMs), AEDs, and study materials. Dr. James Betancourt, the Tactical Medical Director, serves as the primary instructor.”
