Coalition of Police, I.U.P.A. Local #911 Members participated in traffic initiatives in Harris County, Texas to keep the roadways safe.
Mark Herman, Harris County Constable Precinct 4 shared on social media about their traffic initiatives:
- August 11: Today, deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office are out in full force patrolling school zones and school grounds to ensure students in Aldine ISD arrived safely for their first day of school. Deputies are monitoring traffic in and around school campuses, enforcing school zone speed limits, watching for distracted or impaired drivers, and assisting with safe student drop-offs and crossings.
- August 10: Today marks the end of Texas’ annual Tax-Free Holiday, and shopping centers are expected to be busier than usual as families take advantage of back-to-school savings. Deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office are conducting extra patrols in shopping areas across Precinct 4 to ensure the safety of shoppers, deter criminal activity, and provide a visible law enforcement presence. Residents are reminded to stay alert, lock their vehicles, and avoid leaving valuables in plain sight. If you see suspicious activity, report it!
- On multiple days, they posted traffic safety tips for the public to quiz themselves with about driving rules for pedestrian children and school buses in advance of the beginning of the new school year.
- July 30: During “Operation Slow Down,” a traffic enforcement initiative focused on reducing speed-related crashes, deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office stopped and cited a driver traveling 105 MPH in a 65 MPH zone in the 21300 block of the North Freeway. Speeding at this level endangers everyone on the road. We will continue to enforce speed limits to keep our communities safe.
- July 29: Attention Drivers: Constable Deputies are actively participating in “Operation Slow Down,” a campaign focused on cracking down on unsafe, speed-related driving across Precinct 4 roadways. Ease up on the gas, y’all, and stay safe! 🚓
- July 23: This afternoon, deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office teamed up with the Houston Police Department and additional law enforcement agencies in a coordinated traffic enforcement initiative. The operation is focused on curbing reckless driving, excessive speeding, and road rage incidents. Increased patrol presence and enforcement efforts are currently underway along major roadways.
- July 21: Deputy Montez with Constable Mark Herman’s Office has an adult male in custody at 13000 Fleur De Lis Blvd following a successful traffic initiative at this location. The male was found to be in possession of a firearm as a convicted felon and had multiple felony warrants out for his arrest. Great work!!
