Departments Across the U.S. Celebrating Female Heroes During Women’s History Month

The month of March is Women’s History Month and departments from all over the United States posted on their social media about their female staff, how proud they are of them, and how much they appreciate all that they do.

 

Lawton Police Department in Oklahoma

Lawton Police Department posted a video on Facebook last year to honor female officers during Women’s History Month, “For Women’s History Month we wanted to honor those who came before by honoring those who are here now!”

This year, Lawton Police Department posted this collage of their female officers along with this message, “Happy International Women’s Day!”

 

Tacoma Police Department in Washington

Tacoma Police Department posted on their Facebook page, “Today is International Women’s Day, focused on commemorating the socioeconomic, political and cultural achievements of women throughout the world. At the Tacoma Police Department, we honor the contributions made by countless women, past and present, in moving us toward a workplace free of bias and stereotypes, one that is equitable, diverse and inclusive.”

 

 

Unified Police Department of Greater Salt Lake in Utah

Unified Police Department of Greater Salt Lake has been posting videos of female staff throughout the month of March to recognize them for their dedication, hard work, sacrifice, and extraordinary contributions. Two of the heroes selected to be featured are I.U.P.A. Local Salt Lake Valley Law Enforcement Association members.

On March 24, the department posted, “Detective Race pays forward the compassion she received from a detective many years ago.  Hear her story and how she now helps those facing the worst traumas in their lives.  She is making a difference in our community.  #WomensHistoryMonth”

On March 15, the department posted, “Sgt. Heatherlyn Lohrke serves as a patrol sergeant in the Midvale Precinct.  Sgt. Lohrke has the traits of what a great police officer should be; strength, compassion, and intelligence just to name a few.  Listen to her story as we continue our celebration of #WomensHistoryMonth”

Virginia Beach Police Department in Virginia

Virginia Beach Police Department posted about International Women’s Day on their Facebook page, “Happy #InternationalWomensDay! Today we celebrate the women who make the VBPD great – from chaplains, to civilian staff, to volunteers, to the 120 sworn female officers and all roles in between. We are better with you here! ??‍♀️”

 

Port Saint Lucie Police Department in Florida

Port Saint Lucie Police Department shared photos of their female staff and thanked them proudly, “Happy #InternationalWomensDay! Today we celebrate and recognize all the incredible women officers, civilian staff, and volunteers who make PSLPD great. Thank you for all you do!”

Sarasota Police Department in Florida
