LEOs Raising Money for Special Olympics!

Prince William County Police Department in Virginia posted on Facebook about I.U.P.A. Local Prince William County Police Association, #5010 donating challenge coins and other items to give away at the 2023 Polar Plunge. In their post pictured below is Prince William County Police Association, #5010 President Katherine Zaimis holding up some of the donated items.

 

 

 

 

After the event, the department posted, “The 2023 POLAR PLUNGE to benefit Special Olympics Virginia was an historic success, with Team PWCPD raising more than $110,000 for the athletes of Special Olympics Virginia. The event was Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, at Leesylvania State Park in Woodbridge.”

 

 

The post continued, “The Prince William County Police Department thanks the community for its support in raising money for Special Olympics Virginia, including participating on Polar Plunge teams and participating in the first-ever 5K run as part of the Polar Plunge. Additionally, the Department extends grateful thanks to the sponsors and vendors of this year’s Polar Plunge. Team PWCPD would also like to thank all the Department members and County residents who donated to the Polar Plunge. Money raised during the Polar Plunge benefits Special Olympics, an organization which is supported by law enforcement officers throughout the United States and in 45 countries.”
