May is Mental Health Awareness Month

By May 24, 2021 No Comments

The Law Enforcement Officers Relief Fund would like to recognize that May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Officers see things that members of the public cannot imagine during the course of their duties. That is why cops have a higher incidence of PTSD than the general population and a higher rate of suicide. With that in mind, LEORF wanted to share resources for coping with stress to help any LEOs out there who may need it.

If you are a cop in crisis, there are resources out there to help you. Pick up the phone and call a 24/7 crisis line that is specifically geared towards the needs of LEOs.

There is also the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, a United States-based suicide prevention network of over 160 crisis centers that provides 24/7 service via a toll-free hotline.
