I.U.P.A. AND Denham Springs Union of Police Member, Police Officer Sydney, of the Denham Springs Police Department, had a wonderful visit with some very excited kids. The children were able to see inside of her police car and climb inside to explore. The kids were able to see her handcuffs and try them on. Police Officer Sydney gave high fives and let them try on her traffic enforcement vest, turn on her flashlight, and ask her questions.

The preschoolers were attending Kids First MDO Fumc-Ds, a three day per week program for children ages two to four years at the First United Methodist Church of Denham Springs. At the program, children are able to make arts and crafts, draw, do puzzles, complete learning activities, visit the chapel, and even attend events with bouncy houses AND meet a police officer!

Kids First MDO Fumc-Ds posted about Police Officer Sydney’s visit on their Facebook page, “We had a special visitor today ?? Officer Sydney with the DSPD came out, talked to our kids and showed us her cool cop car! ? A big THANK YOU to all the officers that work to make sure we are safe and protected!” Denham Springs Police Department and Denham Springs Union of Police proudly shared the post.
