By February 12, 2024 No Comments

A ten-year-old boy named Daniel in Bunnell, Florida lost his mother a few years ago. Every year, he and his father do something to show their appreciation in honor of her memory. This year, they gave donuts, coffee, and a thank you letter to their local police officers.

Bunell Police Department posted about Daniel on social media, “We had a special visit from Daniel and his Dad, Juan. Today is Daniel’s 10th birthday. Every year for his birthday, he likes to do something to show appreciation in honor of his mother who passed away a few years ago. They brought us coffee and doughnuts. To show our love and appreciation, Sergeant Tripp gave Daniel a BPD patch, challenge coin, and other treats. Daniel was also given a grand tour of Officer Coury’s patrol car. We are touched by this act of kindness and thank you for sharing your love with us Daniel. How proud your Mom must be as you carry forward her love and memory.”

The officers’ international union, the International Union of Police Associations, learned of the young man’s kindness to police officers and sent him a Police Appreciation Award as well as some toys. Their local union, Bunnell Police Officers Association, surprised Daniel on his brother’s birthday to present him with the award and toys. He and his family were very pleased and surprised.
