The Law Enforcement Officers Relief Fund knows that mental health is a serious concern for law enforcement and their families since the job requires that officers risk their lives daily, run towards the things the rest of us run away from, and witness things that damage their emotional health. That is only worsened by the COVID-19 pandemic that has affected us all so strongly.
That is why the LEORF News has published articles previously to address mental health and COVID challenges:
- COVID-19 Leading Cause Of 2021 Line-Of-Duty Deaths
- Mark Bond Wrote For Multibriefs, “Children Of The Badge: The Impact Of Stress On Law Enforcement Children”
- May Is Mental Health Awareness Month
- Preparing For Loss As A First Responder
That is also why LEORF and the I.U.P.A. are sharing this infographic on PTSD in First Responders to educate officers and their families about PTSD as well as provide resources in the event that someone needs to reach out for help. Crisis hotlines are listed at the bottom of the infographic.
