Deputy Eric Blake has recently retired with twenty-six years of service from the Broward Sheriff’s Office. His latest assignment was as a School Resource Deputy in Parkland BSO where the students loved him so much that they created, “Deputy Blake Day” to celebrate his positive impact on them.

The Broward Deputy Sheriffs Association, I.U.P.A. Local 6020 shared on social media to recognize and appreciate Deputy Blake on the occasion of his retirement, “The International Union of Police Associations (I.U.P.A.) Local 6020 would like to congratulate Deputy Eric Blake on his retirement as a law enforcement deputy sheriff with the Broward Sheriff’s Office after 26 years of honorable service to the community. Deputy Blake’s final assignment was in Parkland BSO where he was assigned as a School Resource Deputy. Deputy Blake had a lasting impact on the students and staff at his assigned school where they even created “Deputy Blake Day” to celebrate the positive impact he has had on them.”

The post continued, “Deputy Blake’s impact on the community he served is truly commendable. While Deputy Blake’s retirement is something to be celebrated, the retirement of such an impactful deputy among the community and the Broward Sheriff’s Office is also ultimately a loss for all who strive for the highest standard of excellence in law enforcement. All great law enforcement officers eventually do retire though in due time and the I.U.P.A. Local 6020 wishes Deputy Blake a long and healthy retirement and the best of luck in his future endeavors.”
